This is my big cheek….
Our computer crashed last night. Blue screen of death. We hadn’t backed it up since December 20th. Do you know how many pictures that is? Thus, I don’t think we will be to post some new photos for some time. Joel is feverishly trying to recover our hard drive in hopes that we didn’t lose all those pictures. In the meantime, here is a very cute story about Dexter.
A couple nights while taking a bath, Dexter turns to me and grabs his right butt cheek. He states “This is my big cheek.” Katie – “Excuse me Dexter?” Dex – “This is my big cheek. And this is my other big cheek.” (grabbing his left butt cheek) Katie – “Oh really? Where are your small cheeks, Dexter?” to which Dexter points to the cheeks on his face. I have absolutely no idea where he got the concept of big cheeks versus small cheeks.
Fast forward to two nights ago. I wanted to show Joel what Dexter knew. “Hey Dexter. Where is your big cheek?” I ask. “Can you show Daddy?” Dexter grabs his butt cheek and shows his father. “Here’s my big cheek, Daddy.” So we then go through the routine – “Where is your other big cheek? Where is your small cheek?” etc…. Then I get a bright idea. “Nicholas, do you know where your big cheek is?” Nicky points to the cheek on his face. I ask where his small cheek is and he again, points to his face. I turn to Dexter. “Dexter, can you show your brother where his big cheek is? Nicky, look at Dexter.”
I kid you not. This is what happened next as Joel and I looked on in merriment. Dexter turns around and pulls down his pants. He then pulls down his pull-up. He is now naked from the waist down. He starts walking backwards toward Nicholas, grabbing his big cheeks. “Nicky, here is your big cheek.” Dexter had just mooned his brother. Joel and I were rolling on the ground with laughter at this point in time.
Dexter, we so love your sense of humor.
