Happy 4th of July!!!!!
Oh my goodness – I can’t even believe it is already the 4th of July and for once, it is absolutely gorgeous today. (For those of you who aren’t from around these parts, it usually rains on the 4th.) So, due to the nature of the good weather and because the boys were old enough to maybe enjoy it, we decided to watch Everett’s 4th of July parade. We actually got out the door on time (rarely happens) but hit a snag when targeted parking location was blocked off due to a fun run. We improvised, actually found another close parking spot and lucked out with a prime location to watch the festivities go by. Uncle Too Tall Ryan, met us on the parade route and found little flags for the boys to wave. Nicholas and Dexter were incredibly cute – waving their flags and clapping as the people and cars drove by. Nicholas would jump out of his chair and shout “There are cars coming!!!” Yep, his favorite parade item were the cars and tractors that drove by. Malina scored a hot firemen calendar when the fire fighters walked on by and a little girl gave Dexter a spare lolly pop at the end of the parade. You see, we got a few pieces of candy by clapping and waving our flags but only one lolly pop which was handed to Nicky. Dexter so wanted one and that’s when a very nice little girl stepped in to help. It was so sweet.
Anyway, so far, our 4th has been great. This evening, we plan on attending a neighborhood barbecue and Joel got the boys some little popper fireworks that make a small pop when thrown at the ground. Hope you all had a happy and safe 4th of July too!
