    Singing sensations

    Monday, August 20th, 2012 @ 8:39 pm | Uncategorized

The boys love to sing. Absolutely love belting out tunes and I’m starting to think they may end up becoming heavy metal rockers. This summer, I’ve been pushing Michelle to take them to Music in the park – free children concerts. They always come back inspired. A red plastic hanger has been a guitar, trumpet, trombone, and many other musical instruments. Because of this, I was inspired to make them cardboard guitars. Dexter’s eyes just lit up when I mentioned I had made them and they needed to be decorated. So, we got out the stamps, stickers and finger paint and went at it. Joel and I added finishing touches to them – such as a bit more color and puffy painted guitar strings. The next day, Dexter and Nicholas rocked out on them. They’ve been a totally hit. Laura, today we put Dex in the AC DC shirt and wow – what a little rocker he’s become. He even holds the guitar right.

Well, I kind of then ruined it by buying a $1 electric kid’s guitar (with not strings) at a garage sale today. Bye bye cardboard and homemade songs. Oops. Maybe they’ll get bored of the canned rock song and go back to good old fashioned cardboard fun. Anyway, here’s a couple of clips of our SINGING SENSATION! Enjoy.
