Another Camping trip!
I’m in heaven. We got to go on another camping trip this year and this time, we did it the way Joel grew up – KOA lodge camping. It was my annual ADPi camping trip with some of my sorority sisters and their families. Seeing that we are spread out all over the state, this year the other Katie recommended we stay at the Pine Village KOA outside of Washington State’s own Bavarian town of Leavenworth. (Malina got a kick out of going to a “German” town in Washington. Too bad she found only one German to talk to.)
Unlike our other camping trip, this one was hot – in the mid 80′s (or ~28 Celsius for our non-US readers). Good thing we had rented the deluxe lodge which had air conditioning, bathroom/shower, beds, TV w/cable and a kitchen area. It made for a very pleasant stay (expect when Dexter turned the hot water off and we didn’t notice – the switch in the reach of kids wasn’t labeled. That made for a very cold shower experience for Joel and Nicholas).
Once again, the boys got to play with Ben, Kate and Abby from our last camping trip along with some newcomers, Jordan, Ethan and Cameryn. We used Ben as leverage for good behavior because the boys love Ben. ”Where Ben?” was a phrase uttered way too much. We went on a hike, threw rocks in the river, swam in the pool, shot off rockets with random kids, wandered around Leavenworth where our toy embargo ended and Joel and I bought toys for the boys and we bought authentic German pretzels, and we went on a very cool bike ride. All I can say is that Malina has amazingly strong legs. She is a super woman. Oh, and while the boys napped, Malina, Joel and I worked on crossword puzzles and ate ice cream.
It was a really fun trip and I loved the fact that we had a refrigerator and toilet at our disposal. It’s the simple things that really make a trip fun.
Here are some (64) pictures from our trip. Enjoy!

Brillant photos Katie and Joel!
Nickynac and DexySTAR you are getting so big and clever and turning into such handsome little fellas! Love the camping in a cabin thing! And I am completely jealous of that nice weather you are having! We had a few warmer day for our winter hitting about 20 degrees which was nice but now we have lots of rain again
Miss you, love you!
Counting down until I see you again
Hugs and kisses

Luxury camping! It does have nice advantages! Far nicer than the wet tenting experiences. Sounds like the cabins have gone to new levels. Nice. Great pictures!
