    Halloween Part 2

    Jan 01, 2012 in Uncategorized

As you may be aware, the boys attend a co-op preschool.  This year, the field trip to a local pumpkin patch happened to coincide with Joel and my Monday off from work.  Thus, we decided to make it a family affair.  They turned out to bright, sunny and cold.  We had gone to this same pumpkin patch with the boys last year and it was a bit of a mud fest.  Thus, in true typical Katie Mom fashion, I overdressed the boys.  Preparing for the worst, I dressed them in their (hazmat) rain suits.  Oops.  Some of the other moms didn’t even bring coats for their kids.  Better to be over prepared, than underprepared.

As part of the field trip, we got to see all sorts of animals and go through a hay maze.  The boys petted baby kittens and saw a donkey’s fifth leg.  (Yep, when the kids walked up to the donkey’s stall, the donkey got a little worked up and something impressive grew to a great length.  Dexter thought it was another leg.  Usually, I would correct him, but I thought the other mom’s might get a little mad at me if I stated what it was and why it got really big.  So, I just kept my mouth shut this time.)  We rode on a tractor,  picked out our pumpkins, fought the yellow jackets (bees) during lunch and crashed when we got home.
