And the count down begins…

OK, here I sit in the hospital waiting room, again. Joel has decided he can’t take it anymore and signed himself up for another arm surgery – this one the left arm. The doctor will basically do what he did before, with one more additional incision, which will then be replicated ~ the beginning of June on the right arm (just the one incision though). After that, Joel better be good to go with using his arms again. This whole mess has been extremely frustrating and discouraging for him.
That said, what is a wife to do when he husband is about to be out of commission for a couple of weeks? I worked him HARD over the weekend. That is how I take pity on Joel. I gave him so many things to do, he didn’t have time to be worried. What a good wife I am. :)
After having carpet installed upstairs and in the den downstairs, on Monday – Wednesday, we have taken the ‘let’s do it right this time’ approach to putting things back together. This weekend was the big push to at least move all the heavy stuff. Thus, Joel needed to set up his den, we needed to get the spare bedroom back in business in case Joel wants to sleep alone tonight, we had to pitch a ton of stuff no longer needed (dump run!!!), and we had to get our garage back in shape so cars could once again be parked there. Also this weekend was the boys’ last soccer game and party, Uncle Dick’s funeral, household chores, a music concert at church, and some good, old fashioned, family fun time – swimming (which almost included a trip to the emergency room when Dexter decided to flip his kitchen chair backwards and smack his head on the wood floor – hard). It was a busy weekend and Dexter’s ok (although he does have a big goose egg on the back of his head).
If all goes well, Joel will recovery nicely and I’ll have written a ton of posts for you all read. Wish us both luck!
